A new waterfront
- The restoration of a salt marsh in Castle Hill Park, along the edges of Pugsley Creek
- A restored oyster reef at the confluence of the East and Bronx Rivers, off Soundview Park, planted as one of six experimental reefs in 2010 and expanded in 2012 through 2014 with the involvement of community partners. The reef continues to be monitored by the Hudson River Foundation, NYC Parks, and NY/NJ Baykeeper, with the assistance of citizen scientists.
- A fish ladder—New York City’s first—installed two years ago by the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation, partnering with the Bronx River Alliance, to help alewife herring get upstream and spawn
