Pier 5 is the only fully open Harbor Walk location with unobstructed view sheds including the Charles and Mystic Rivers, Boston skyline, East Boston and the entire harbor all the way to the Harbor Islands.
Pier 5 is where the Freedom Trail and Harborwalk converge. With only a Ferry connection with East Boston, the Courageous Sailing interaction with East Boston Sailing program is one of the few ways East Boston is better integrated together for commerce and social justice. Bostonians look for recreation in Charlestown for weekend recreation. Like Manhattan, East River Brooklyn and Coney Island affordable shoreline respites for similar over-development reaction.
